We often assume innovation comes only from prestigious institutions of established “experts”.  We overlook the people on the margins with something to prove to the world that the impossible can be achieved. We need to  question this assumption. Courage and tenacity can bring incredible and unimagined innovation. General Patton believed that wars are not won by credentials. They are won by knowledge applied at the right moment. The most dangerous person is the one who looks at an impossible situation differently.

I was walking in the park in Philadelphia back in 1990 reflecting on my life.  It appeared my life had come to a complete standstill with no direction or purpose. I had lost everything: my job, wife, girlfriend, money, even the dog. I was homeless and jobless except for my monthly Naval Reserve duty. I had $300/month and a house-sitting gig for a friend. It occurred to me that God had done this to get  my attention. That is why everything stopped. As a student of Ernest Holmes and Science of Mind I realized that in order to be successful I needed to contribute something significant to the world in order to be prosperous. Therefore I rather casually asked God what the world needed that I could do.
